Copper, brown and red color in Lexington

Copper, brown and red, mixed for your hair

Jodie Sherwood colors hair in a private suite on Richmond Road, one client at a time. Every visit starts with a conversation about the shade you want and what your hair has been through. The new-client waitlist is open.

Jodie Sherwood

Colorist and owner

One chair, one client at a time, so your appointment is never rushed or shared.

Jodie colors copper, brown and red, and she plans from everything a client tells her about what their hair has been through. She mixes every shade herself and shows you the formula in the mirror before it goes on. If what you want isn't something she does, she'll say so and point you to someone who does.

A color day

How a color day runs

Plan on the time listed on the menu, and a little more for your first visit.

  1. 01
    15 min

    Step 1: Talk it through

At the chair, with your photos: your hair history, the shade and what you'd like to keep. Nothing is mixed until we agree.

  2. 02
    10 min

    Step 2: Mix your formula

Jodie mixes your shade and shows you the formula in the mirror before it goes on.

  3. 03
    1–2 h

    Step 3: Apply and process

Color goes on section by section, then rests while it develops. How long depends on your starting color and the shade.

  4. 04
    30–45 min

    Step 4: Gloss and finish

A rinse, a gloss, a blow-dry and a plan for when to come back.

The suite

One chair, one door, no one waiting behind you

Sherwood Color Suite is Suite 6 in a salon-suite building on Richmond Road in Lexington.

On the morning of your visit you'll get a text with the suite's door code. Park in the lot behind the building. Because it's one chair, bookings go further ahead than at a bigger salon, and the waitlist offers a time as soon as one opens.

At the suite

  • Parking behind the building

  • One guest may sit with you

  • Appointments Tuesday to Saturday

From clients

What a first color visit felt like

“I brought six photos of copper and she told me which two would work with my skin and which wouldn't. Nobody had been that straight with me before.”

Lorie K.Copper client

“It never felt like a long day. She showed me the formula before it went on, and we talked through every step.”

Destinee R.Brown color

“I was going from box red to a soft brown. We did it in two visits, and she told me why at the very start.”
